In this day and age, fewer and fewer people have a newspaper subscription. With an online obituary, you can reach mourners quickly, easily and inexpensively. With our simple obituary designer, you can easily create a stylish obituary within minutes. In addition, you usually save hundreds, often thousands of euros compared to a classic newspaper ad.
Where will the obituary be published?
The obituary will be published in the obituary directory of traueranzeigeonline.de - if you wish (see "Private" option). The obituary can also be downloaded as a PDF file.
What does the "Private" option mean?
The "Private" option gives you the option of not publishing the obituary in the bereavement directory. Instead, you will receive a private link. This link can only be viewed by people to whom you pass it on.
How does the online condolence book work?
If you activate the online condolence book, it will be displayed directly below the obituary. This gives relatives and friends the opportunity to express their sympathy. Condolence book entries are always public. You will receive an e-mail notification as soon as someone writes an entry. This mail also gives you the option to remove an entry directly.
How much does an obituary cost?
An online obituary costs a one-time fee of 35.00€ incl. VAT.
How can I pay?
We accept the following payment methods: Paypal, Klarna, American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
How do relatives and friends learn of the death?
Many of our customers send the image of the ad via Whatsapp, Facebook or by e-mail. The direct link to the ad can also be forwarded via the sharing function.
Can the obituary be found with Google?
If the obituary is not posted with the "Private" option, it can usually be found within a few hours via Google and other search engines. Sometimes it takes a little longer (24-48 hours).
I have placed an obituary and would like to make a change.
We are currently working on an editing function. This is not yet fully operational.

I already have a finished designed obituary and want to publish it exactly as it is on the platform.

What size is the obituary in the PDF?
The width of the obituary in the PDF created by the system is 150mm. The height depends on the content of your ad. For newspapers, it is usually no problem to scale this PDF to the correct size. Please contact us if this is not the case. We are also happy to send you the background image separately if needed.
Why is the online obituary not free of charge?
With the amount you pay for the obituary, we ensure the operation, further development and maintenance of our platform. We do not wish to place any advertisements at this time in order to keep the environment dignified and respectful. The construction of our obituary designer required a lot of development time. How long does an obituary stay online?
An obituary remains online for three years after publication. Before this period expires, you have the option to extend the duration.
What happens when the deadline expires?
We will notify you in good time by e-mail before the duration of your obituary expires. In this e-mail you will have the option to easily extend the ad for another three years. If you decide not to renew, you don't need to do anything. The obituary will be automatically and permanently removed from the platform after the deadline expires.
